The Working Group
The YRSMCP Working Group consists of up to two representatives from each Yukon First Nation community as appointed by their First Nation. The role of the Working Group is to:
Provide advice, guidance, and oversee the work of the YRSMCP.
Advice on sacred ceremonial protocols and community events.
Facilitate community engagement and the identification of those who wish to participate in the YRSMCP.
Review and advice the YRSMCP team on interview guides and processes, questionnaires, issues related to ground radar and other technologies uses to search for unmarked burials, and any other research protocols.
Advise on external communications related to the YRSMCP.
Advise on the appropriate archival site for the on-going storage of all data and knowledge gathered through the YRSMCP.
Identify programs and services required for healing from trauma and aftercare.
Advise and guide work on a memorial project.
Ensure approved YRSMCP work plans and budgets are adhered to.
Act as an important liaison and facilitate effective and timely two-way communication between First Nation communities and the YRSMCP.
